ORLANDO, FL, January 31, 2008 - 2008 Golf Industry Show - As environmental stewards, all turf professionals, including golf course superintendents, continually seek ways to minimize their impact. New flexible packaging from BASF Turf & Ornamentals helps them meet that objective by reducing the amount of plastic introduced into the waste stream by 60 percent compared with traditional hard-plastic jugs.
The first flexible containers in the turf industry will contain granular formulated Drive® 75 DF herbicide from BASF with package dimensions of 6"L x 2"W x 10"H.
"Long-term company success and environmental and social responsibility go hand in hand," said Dr. Toni Bucci, business manager, BASF Turf & Ornamentals. "This new flexible packaging in the turf industry is another example of BASF's commitment to ensure sustainable development for our customers, partners, shareholders and employees."
The flexible packaging addresses golf course crew needs for accurate pouring, secure storage and transportation.
Drive® 75 DF herbicide will be available in this new packaging in 2Q 2008. Examples of the packaging will be on display in the BASF booth #2839 at the 2008 Golf Industry Show, January 31 - February 2, in Orlando, Florida.
